How we salon differently
Each stylist at The Space charges a set amount per hour for all of their services. This transparent pricing model includes gratuity.
We encourage our artists to charge an hourly rate that allows them to make an actual, comfortable, livable wage, while making price increases as their demand and skill level grow! We want to help you make good money while you focus on making good hair. Hourly pricing allows for cost transparency for our clients, income transparency for our stylists, and unlimited income growth!
We have partnered with THE DRESS CODE PROJECT and Strands for Trans to provide a safer space salon for all LGBTQIA2S+ folks. All service prices depend on the length and density of your hair, not your gender or age. This removes the pink tax and creates a more equality focused environment. Hair has no gender. Hair has no age.
We are dedicated to having a sustainable clean environment that leaves our Earth cleaner than when we started. We recycle our salon waste with SalonCycle. This program recycles our used foils, color tubes, and gloves. We use non toxic, cruelty-free products and ammonia free color and we’re an aerosol free space. We avoid buying new whenever possible, and try to stick to biodegradable materials when purchasing items whenever possible. The Space is also partnered with a local company Dirt Wain to compost all haircuttings.
We provide bi-monthly career mentorship because we want our stylists to grow to their full potential! We also offer business and career focused online education, as well as online, in person, and in salon hair education opportunities for the full team.
As a member of our team, if you are ever interested in hosting your own education, we allow you to use the salon space to host your own classes! I want to help you reach all of your career goals and if that's education I would love to help you get there!
We fiercely believe in community over competition. We show this in all ways. By offering community haircut days, cut-a-thons, and fundraisers. By pledging 1% of our profit to local organizations that are important to us as a team. By offering to host other stylists to have education at our salon. By allowing our stylists the freedom to work at our salon AND other salons. We support each other's growth!
